ACT - Out on Bail trump Wound Warriors in nail-biter at Kambah Indoor

B-Grade battlers Out on Bail and Wound Warriors have lit up Kambah Indoor Sports in a thrilling, down to the wire encounter on Monday.

The result was in the balance when Todd McElhinney and Taylor Keith strode to the crease to anchor Out on Bail’s run chase in the final skin of the match. The intrepid pair had their work cut out, staring down a hefty 29-run deficit. Undeterred, they reeled in the total with equal measures of aggression and finesse. When the final bowled was bowled both batsman had notched impressive tallies of 16 runs apiece.

The poise shown by the two cannot be understated given what had happened to their side in the third skin of their innings.

It was a massacre. The Wound Warriors attack were brutal in their treatment of Out on Bail pair Evan and Wade Scerri, whose side’s hopes were left in tatters on a combined -27. Much of the credit goes to Warriors bowler Silky, who finished the match with figures of 7/-26. A deserved best on court winner in a losing side.

Both teams now face the task of building their performances in this match. There is a lot of ground for them to make up if they want to give the competition a real shake.
