QLD - Cricket - Star power spells results in Mixed Cricket at Caboolture

Three teams have gotten off to blinding starts in round 1 of the Thursday evening Mixed Cricket Competition at Caboolture thanks to some star performances.

In the first game of the night, Nailed It! dished out a three skins to nil defeat to The Leftovers, thanks in no small part to a consummate all round effort from El Woodgate. Woodgate, who peeled off 26 with the bat and claimed three wickets with the ball and was fittingly handed the accolade of player of the match, in an evening featuring many star performances.

While Woodgate was causing headaches for Nailed It! - Ashley Timmons was busy engineering the downfall of Glenn’s Team on behalf of her side, Adam’s Team. Timmins provided the stand out performance of the night across the competition, amassing a massive overall contribution of 43, including 7 wickets.

In the last game of the night, The Randoms pumped the UD’s by 64 runs to claim the top spot honours for at least the first of the competition. The Randoms, a team comprised exclusively of Liddell’s and Bass’, were spearheaded by Declan Liddell, who was ably assisted by Damon Bass with both players taking 6-for.

The strength of these performances go to show just how far a dominant individual can take their team in the six a side game.
